EI Essay Competition
Essay Competition on “Voices of young people on governance of extractive industries”. After 3 years of great efforts from the team and after going through a lengthy process including screening, short listing and final review by a group of juries and Oxfam Management, they announce the winners with the following results:
1st Place: Ms. Nara Sokhema,
fourth-year student of Economics at University of Cambodia and
graduate in International Studies from Institute of Foreign Languages.
2nd Place: Mr. Lay Sok Heng,
Master of Arts in International Development Program at International University of Japan.
3rd Place: Mr. Eng Ramin,
fourth-year student of International Relations at University of Cambodia and graduate from Institute of Foreign Languages.
The juries selected additional 6 essays of acceptable quality, listed in ranking order:
4. Mr. Yann Aoudourm, Pannasastra University of Cambodia
5. Mr. Tang Sihout, Build Bright University
6. Mr. Heng Oudom, Royal University of Law and Economics
7. Ms. Lim Chansongphiboun, Zaman University Cambodia
8. Mr. Tay Suvannarun, Royal University of Phnom Penh
9. Mr. Rin Ratha, Royal University of Law and Economics
In addition to the above nine winners, Oxfam inform that one of contestants, Dr. Dyna Heng, senior researcher at the Cambodian Economic Association, has contributed an essay to participate in the discussion. His essay provides great insights and will be published as an “honorary essay » as we greatly appreciate his contribution- added-Oxfam.
